Daniel P. Molloy, an emeritus biologist at the New York State Museum in Albany, N.Y, has discovered a way to kill the zebra mussels in Lake Michigan with very little - if any - effect on other organisms in the Great Lakes!!
From what I understand the spiny water fleas are more of a problem. They eat the same plankton the mussles and fish fry eat. I wonder if they kill the mussles if the water flea population will explode.
ReplyDeleteMaybe but the same possibility exists for the plankton
DeleteInteresting. I have the same thoughts, Daniel, does.
ReplyDeletenever heard of the spiny water fleas, how many freaking invasive can one state take...
ReplyDeletewhatever, i hope they poison the crap out of the zebra mussels
