The difference between men and women....

Men blog, and read blogs, about fishing - women blog, and read blogs, about being a mommy

OK, maybe that's a bit of stretch and doesn't always apply, but in the case of my wife and I, it's about as true as it can be!

I send her links to pictures of some amazing fly or huge fish - she sends me a link to an article about why it's OK for the baby to sleep in the same room as us.

I send her a link to a boat that I think we should get - she sends me a link to a story about how a baby lotion that we use has been recalled.

For all those who wonder what life is like after you get married and have kids....this is it.

I wouldn't change a second of it

  1. I know I'm not the norm on that spectrum, but it does sound about right most of the time! :)

    1. I almost wrote this without the disclaimer, but I thought about the women bloggers out there like you. I am glad I caught it!

  2. Did you freak out when you got the baby lotion recall wondering if it would make "it" fall off on you? LOL

    1. Come on, Ed! This was only supposed to be a sneak peak into the difference of men and women. I didn't plan on giving away secrets like that!

  3. Hmmmm.. I hope if I have kids that I don't trade blogging about Steelhead for blogging about diapers!

  4. Based on what I see on ChicagoNow, mommy bloggers are all the rage. Like having a kid is something new. Men don't read blogs, most don't know how to read. They know enough to go look at pictures then play that mine is bigger than yours game.

Never, ever let your kids sleep in the same room with you. Unless you live in a one room shack or a tent or the kid is sick. When the kid is better, back to their own room. I don't care what psycho babble supports it, don't do it.

    Trust me on that one.

    1. Having a kid is no newer than trying to catch a fish - in fact, it's probably a bit older.

I do agree...it's all about the pictures, mostly. That would explain why the "Fish Porn" page on this site is the number one viewed page by hundreds.

As far as not letting him sleep in the same room - A. Too late B. Next one is outta there! C. I love listening to his little noises in the morning, which makes the lack of sleep allllll worth it.

  5. No...you shouldn't change a thing. Enjoy every facet of family life and blogging for different reasons. Heck, it's a good thing that she is on top of those recalls! Lol. I haven't even gone to the "Fish Porn" page yet...I guess that I better take a gander. ; )

    1. That's what I love about blogging; no matter what you are in to, chances are that you can find a blog, or a hundred, that shares your interests.

I concur - it's good that she was on that or else we would have had a bacteria outbreak!

Hopefully, I can add some your pictures to the fish porn section when you get those flies and catch some monsters on them!
